Authorship and AI Transparency Policy

Drug Test Information may use research, drafting, editing, and quality-assurance tools, including artificial intelligence. Tools can improve organization and identify issues, but they do not replace accountable editorial judgment or authoritative sources.

Human editorial responsibility

A publishable page requires a person or responsible editorial process to define scope, select sources, assess claims, resolve conflicts, check links, and approve the final text. An automated system is not listed as a medical, legal, or laboratory expert.

Permitted uses

  • Organizing an outline and content hierarchy.
  • Comparing terminology across official documents.
  • Drafting plain-language explanations for editorial review.
  • Finding possible inconsistencies, broken links, or missing qualifications.
  • Generating accessibility text, metadata, and internal-link suggestions subject to review.

Required verification

Automated output can invent citations, misread dates, merge different programs, or state uncertain conclusions confidently. Every material claim must be checked against the underlying source. Citations must be opened; titles, effective dates, and scope must match.

Prohibited uses

We do not use automation as the sole basis for individualized medical advice, legal conclusions, laboratory interpretation, diagnoses, eligibility decisions, or instructions to defeat testing. We do not present generated quotations as authentic or fabricate credentials, firsthand experience, or review.

Privacy

Private medical, employment, legal, or identifying information should not be entered into a drafting tool without appropriate authorization and safeguards. Reader-submitted cases should be minimized, de-identified when possible, and handled according to applicable privacy commitments.

Disclosure

When assisted drafting materially shapes a page, the editorial process should be transparent at the site or article level. Disclosure does not replace verification. The relevant question is whether the published information is accurate, sourced, current, and accountable.

Corrections and feedback

AI-assisted material follows the same corrections policy as other content. Readers are encouraged to report an unsupported claim or source mismatch with the page URL and primary evidence.

Review record

Where practical, high-risk articles record an evidence-review date and the governing sources checked. Updates to an automated drafting system do not automatically update a published article; the article must be reviewed separately.
