Medical, Legal, and Drug-Testing Disclaimer

Effective date: October 29, 2026

Drug Test Information publishes general educational material. Nothing on this Site is a diagnosis, medical treatment plan, legal opinion, employment decision, laboratory certification, toxicology opinion, or official interpretation by a regulator, court, employer, school, sports organization, or testing authority.

Medical disclaimer

Drug-testing results must be interpreted in context. Specimen type, analyte, cutoff, timing, medication history, screening method, confirmation method, specimen validity, symptoms, and clinical history may all matter. Do not start, stop, delay, or change medication or treatment based on this Site or a home drug test. Consult a qualified clinician who can review the complete circumstances.

The Site does not provide emergency care. For suspected overdose, poisoning, breathing difficulty, loss of consciousness, severe confusion, or other urgent danger, contact local emergency services or an appropriate poison-control resource immediately.

Legal and employment disclaimer

Drug-testing law varies by country, state, locality, industry, employer, court order, contract, collective-bargaining agreement, and testing purpose. Information about one federal or state program should not be assumed to apply elsewhere. Using the Site does not create an attorney-client relationship. Consult a qualified lawyer, union representative, compliance professional, or responsible government agency when rights, deadlines, discipline, custody, supervision, licensing, or litigation are involved.

Laboratory and result disclaimer

A preliminary, presumptive, nonnegative, confirmed, verified, dilute, invalid, adulterated, substituted, or cancelled result has a program-specific meaning. A positive result does not automatically prove impairment, exact timing, dose, intent, misuse, or a substance-use disorder. A negative result does not prove no prior use. Request the actual laboratory record and governing procedure before making a consequential decision.

Sports and anti-doping disclaimer

Prohibited lists, therapeutic-use-exemption requirements, medication status, and results-management rules change. Athletes are responsible for checking the current rules of the organization that governs them. Approval under one program may not be recognized by another. Necessary emergency care should not be delayed, but documentation and prompt contact with the responsible authority may be important.

Detection windows and accuracy

Published detection windows are estimates, not guarantees. Drug, dose, frequency, route, formulation, specimen, cutoff, metabolism, health, collection timing, storage, and method can change a result. No calculator or general chart can promise the date an individual will test negative.

No test-evasion guidance

The Site does not provide instructions for dilution, adulteration, substitution, masking, falsification, or evasion. Products marketed as “detox” or guaranteed test solutions can be ineffective, unsafe, or inconsistent with a testing program and may create additional consequences.

External sources and products

Links are provided for sourcing and convenience. We do not control third-party content, availability, privacy, products, services, or changes. Mention of a product, test, laboratory, agency, professional organization, or vendor does not constitute endorsement unless expressly stated.

Editorial review

We aim to use current primary sources and identify meaningful limitations. Errors and outdated rules can still occur. Review the Editorial Standards, Sourcing Policy, and Corrections Policy.
